Hi guys. For ubuntu Quantal Quetzal I think this idea perhaps works like logo.

The Quetzal it is the national bird of Guatemala, the Resplendent Quetzal.
This bird have his chest color red and in the culture Maya means nobility.

For this reason in this design have red color in the background of logo Ubuntu, simulating the chest of Quetzal.

In the case of the head the bird looks to sky symbolizes freedom.
